After you have introduced The DuPont Challenge to your students, we suggest that you work closely with your students on their essays as part of the assignments for your class. Review the Challenges with students, and have them explore the writing tips provided in this website. You may also want to set up a schedule for students, giving a week-by-week or day-by-day checklist for having an idea approved by you, writing a first draft, revising, and preparing a final draft. We suggest that you review all student essays before they are presented for final submission.

Here are some other important notes regarding submission:

  • All student essays must meet the requirements and follow the official competition Rules.
  • To enter, please have each student complete the Official Entry Form. All essays must be submitted electronically. No essays submitted in hard copy via mail or any other carrier or courier service will be accepted.
  • The deadline has been extended! All essays must be submitted by Sunday, January 31 Friday, February 5, 2016, at 11:55 p.m. Pacific time.
  • Winners will be announced on this website by April 15, 2016.

Please see the Official Rules regarding entries from children under 13 years of age.
